Pond Aeration

Pond aeration comes in 2 forms, bottom aeration and surface aeration.

Bottom Aeration

brings the water full of carbon dioxide, Phosphates, Nitrogen, Sulphur and other gasses up to the surface. This helps get them degassed out of the pond, cleaning the water and improving water quality for aquatic life. It also lowers the oxygen in the pond to the bottom speeding up decomposition of the sludge. It takes oxygen to decompose and breakdown bottom sludge buildup. Bottom aeration also speeds up growth of good bacteria that help to breakdown the bottom sludge turning it to gasses.

By removing the sludge and gasses into the air you get rid of nutrients that aquatic weeds and algae need, reducing them in and around the pond. Different sized ponds with different depths need different aeration types. We are very happy to have you call and go over your particular needs.

Surface Aeration

Surface Aeration can be surface aerators that put high volumes of water into the air 2-3’ high and 3-4’ wide, again degassing is the key. They come is many different horse powers for the different sized jobs. It might be an owner’s pond, back bay of a larger lake or for fish survival and algae control.

Floating Fountains

Floating Fountains also offer surface aeration but with more sight and sound. Many different patterns and sizes to choose from gives the owner added value in aeration. Most surface aeration is held in place with 2 tie ropes one to each side for easy installation or removal in the fall.
